Inside a creepy abandoned ghost hotel in Bali by photographer Romain Veillon

In the last couple of years, Bali has become the new tropical ‘Barcelona’. It might take you 15 hours longer to get there but the high temperatures, exotic foods and luxurious apartments are all worth it. Unfortunately, there’s also a downside to all this sudden increased tourism on the island because the more hotels there are on the island the more competition and this can sadly result in ghost hotels. Photographer Romain Veillon loves to track down abandoned places. Good thing we love that too. After visiting abandoned Casinos and fun fares he has decided to visit a ghost hotel in Bali and this certainly isn’t a place you would want to stay the night.

The hotel is known as PI Bedugul Taman Rekreasi Hotel and Resort and was abandoned and left to decay on the cusp of its completion. This all due to the hotel’s owner Tommy Suharto, who is the son of Indonesia’s former dictator, General Suharto. He was sent to prison in 2002 for the assassination of an Indonesian Supreme Court judge who found him guilty of corruption. As a result, the hotel was left to die…
