(Photos via Tui)

As the world-famous Oktoberfest is happening as we speak, all eyes are on Munich where around 5.8 million people drink around 6.6 million litres of beer in just a few weeks time. We can imagine that after all that beer drinking and celebrating you’ll need a good meal. Or if you’re visiting the beautiful city outside of Oktoberfest (still highly recommended) then you’ll also need a good meal when going sightseeing all day. For those moment these must-see bar/restaurant hotspots come in handy. Because let’s face it, food is the most important part of your weekend getaway.

1.IZAKAYA Asian Kitchen & Bar
You won’t find a newer hotspot in Munich as this restaurant opened today. Located in the new Roomers design hotel, you can enjoy the best dishes from the Japanese kitchen with a South-American influence here. With, for example, the best Temari Sushi, Kombujime, Corn Tempura, slow-cooked Short Ribs and Rabata-specialities. Furthermore, the interior of the bar is on-point with a lot of black-painted furniture, which goes perfectly well together with the wood/yellow touches.

>Landsberger Str. 68, Munich

2.KATOPAZZO
Located in the trendy neighbourhood of Schwabing, Katopazzo sounds and looks just as trendy. Here you’ll find South-American influences on the menu created by a Michelin-star chef. The healthy bowls, spareribs and ceviche are real recommendations. After your meal the restaurant turns into a bar so this is your chance to show off some of your dance moves.

>Amaliënstraße 87, Munich

3.BRENNER
At restaurant Brenner on the beautiful Maxmilianstraße, country and modern influences are perfectly combined. Here you can enjoy grill or pasta meals in combination with a drink at the bar.

Maximilianstraße 15, Munich

4.GOLDENE BAR
The popular Goldene Bar is located in the exposition building Haus der Kunst at the beginning of the English garden. Here you’ll find music, cocktails and art. Do we need to say more?

>Prinzregentenstraße 1, Munich

5.ATELIER
Here chef Jan Hartwig, restaurant manager Talisa Bernthaler and their team create perfect culinary treats in the form of real pieces of (food) art. With two Michelin stars, this restaurant combines luxury and comfort perfectly in a creative sense while providing an intimate atmosphere.

>Promenadeplatz 2-6, Munich

Oktoberfest 2017 runs from Saturday 16 September until Monday 2 October.
