Gucci is expanding its fashion focus way beyond the range of primary clothing. After turning its latest fashion campaign into art, Gucci is now ready take a part in the food sector. The fashion house has opened Gucci Garden Galleria on the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia in Florence, where in 2011 a Gucci museum opened. Now Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele has decided to add a restaurant, store and exhibition rooms.
The Gucci Osteria restaurant offers a unique combination of historic design and contemporary touches, such as velvet couches and bright green walls. As Gucci loves to stay close to its roots, nothing but traditional dishes with an international twist are on the menu, such as Parmigiano Reggiano tortellini, Peruviaanse tostadas and risotto, selected by Michelin star chef Massimo Bottura. Finished eating? You can head straight to the exclusive ‘gift shop’.
