Combine an overload of food choices with design and you get Berlin’s new food court hotspot Kantini. In the most recent years, food courts have been introduced in almost every must-visit city in Europe but Berlin is the first one to dip it completely in design. And what a design. Instagram-addicts are going to feel right at home over here. Almost every corner comes with bright pastel furniture and loads of plants. We would almost forget that we’re talking about a food court here.
“It’s not only lovers of good, quality food from all corners of the globe who will appreciate our new food market at BIKINI BERLIN, but also architecture fans.”
In total, Kantini hosts 13 food stalls and is located in the Bikini Berlin building, which comes with a rich history. It used to be a newspaper printing press but has now been turned into a shoppingmall including exhibitions. Berlin-based design Studio Aisslinger got the honour of turning the building’s first floor, which comes with splendid views of the Berlin Zoo, into a trendy food court.”The staging of spaces through storytelling, unusual material combinations and experience-oriented installations is a new playing field for all architects in the digital age.”
