Behind-the-scenes: our new spring/summer collection in Cape Town

Warmer days are coming! Yesterday evening we experienced a small high point during these cold winter days as we were able to bike home without any bike lights. Unnecessary information you might think but this does mean one thing; the days are getting longer and spring is on its way! We’re already celebrating this moment with the launch of our spring/summer collection. Inspired by, what in our opinion is, the most summer city in the world: Cape Town. Here the sun doesn’t go down and summer is simply never-ending. Time to return to the far south for our best and most awesome collection ever. Let’s go!

The South-African capital has proven that it isn’t hard to fall in love all over again with a city. Last year we visited Cape Town for the first time but this didn’t stop us from returning to the colourful city for a second round. Bright colours, an overload of sun and the best beach there is. There just is no other city that reflects summer more than Cape Town.

Where there’s summer, there are beaches and Cape Town shows in the best way possible how that’s done. Its endless bay is everything but boring so we spent loads of time over here. From the rocky Oudekraal Beach to watching surf boys on Clifton Beach. It’s all possible but our favourite remains Boulders Beach. Here penguins steal the show and especially this time they seemed impressed by our new bikini collection (coming soon!). Or perhaps this had something to do with the beautiful Danika Pienaar..?

Soon we exchanged the beach for the most colourful streets in South-Africa, if not the entire continent: Bo-Kaap. Colour-blocking is taken to the next level over here, which makes it the perfect backdrop for summer photos. The same goes for the cactus gardens at Babylonstoren, which everyone, fortunately, managed to leave without scratches.

From the endless beaches and boulevard, we took the motorcycle to rush out of the city centre. On the way, we came across an abandoned gas station, which looked like it had been transported straight from the iconic American Route 69. End station: the ultimate surf villa in Camps Bay with a gorgeous view of the Table Mountain. Swimming pool, inflatable unicorn and sun. Models Jeanni Mulder en Kevin Pabel (us included) found it hard to say goodbye.

Work hard, play hard. Laying by the pool and hanging out with penguins demands hard work so we decided to end the day by visiting a few food hotspots. This resulted in restaurant La Parade Camps Bay becoming our favourite new hotspot. A review is probably unnecessary as our before and after food photos can do the talking.

A short coffee break at Bree Street, unfortunately, marked the end of our beautiful Cape Town adventure. We have bundled all of our colourful memories in our new spring/summer collection of which the first drop is now available onlineSummer, we’re so ready for you!
