Amsterdam Hotspots

Hotspot | There is a new bar in town that has a hidden karaoke booth in the basement

It must be a nightmare when you open a new bar in town, but don’t get the necessary permit for a terrace. What to do then?! You’ll get giant turning windows that go from the bottom of the floor, all the way to the top of the ceiling. This way it feels just like you’re sitting outside. Brilliant! We are talking here about the recently opened Café Plan West, in the Witte de Withstraat. Although we really like the giant ‘windows’, this is not the reason why we thinks this will be a new hotspot. For that, we have to go down to the basement. Plan West has a ‘private karaoke booth’ hidden away in the basement, one with its own bar and giant disco light:

Is this brilliant, or what?! They had us at ‘private karaoke’, but since they also decided to install a private bar and a disco ball the size of a car: take our money!

PS Maybe needless to say, but Plan West also serves delicious lunch and diner, all for a fair price!

Café Plan West is opened from Tuesday till Sunday.
