To call something “the best of Amsterdam” is quite a statement. It’s also the reason we often use this term, because then you quickly lose your credibility as an online magazine. For example, we used this sentence at a new steak restaurant, where in our humble opinion you eat the best steak in the city. But today, it isn’t about the best steak in town. No, it’s about the best karaoke bar the Duke of Tokyo in the Reguliersdwarsstraat, which opened its doors earlier this year after a long renovation.
A hysterical private booth for every group
Although you have hundreds of pubs and dozens of karaoke bars in Amsterdam, the Duke is a place everyone is visiting. This may have to do with the fact that the owners have converted this place with lots of love and passion into a real Japanese karaoke spot, where each group has its own private booth. From 4 people to 25 people, for everyone there is the perfect booth which in itself is completely unique in hysterical Japanese style.
When your party needs a kickstart
We’ve been to Tokyo once, where we were surprised by the enormous culture shock. Everything feels new and everything feels crazy. That’s a bit of the same feeling you get when you step into Duke or Tokyo, because for the two hours that you’ve rented the booth, you imagine yourself in bustling Tokyo. This is exactly why everyone would recommend that you start your party here. One thing is for sure: the atmosphere is there from minute one. People you do not expect grab the microphone and do not let go of it. We personally experienced this during our XXL party, which ended in the Duke of Tokyo. A legendary evening. And if you don’t believe us, check out the videos.
